Santorini had been on my bucket list for a few years, so I was delighted that my close friends chose this beautiful island to get married. I went towards the end of summer, beginning of September, the weather was still beautiful and I got about 5 shades darker!
For anyone going to Santorini, I would recommend staying in Fira, as it is very accessible and you can get relatively good deals. If you are looking for something a bit more upscale, I would recommend staying in Oia, the scenery is beautiful.
The island is quite small, and it is relatively easy to get around”
It definitely had to be the wedding! It was at Rocabella Santorini, which had A-maaaaziinggg views. Together with friends, music, good food and drinks. It was definitely my “Yay Moment”
I also loved riding the quad bike to Perissa, it was one long road and it felt nice having the wind in my hair (music video effect, haha!)
I got to the airport and it was literally the world’s tiniest airport (slight exaggeration), but it is very tiny and gets very crowded easily. There is nowhere to sit after security, so I would not advise getting there too early
Things to do in Santorini
Hire a quad bike – Easiest and Fastest way to get around the island.
Boat Tour – We got a good discount, and it only cost about £20 each.
Visit the Volcano
Go swimming in the hot springs – advanced swimmers only, as you have to jump off a boat into the ocean to get to the hot springs.
Watch the sunset in Oia – It gets extremely busy, so I would advise getting there early and be prepared for the crowds.
Visit Pyrgos for the best view of Santorini.
Cable Cars down the cliff, or a donkey ride-I chose the cable cars
Eat loads of Gyro- the best place is Lucky’s in Fira. (What’s Gyro?)
Beaches to visit
Relly says her pictures do not do Santorini justice (so imagine how awesome it would be in person!) but these are the little pieces of her moments in Greece.
